12v battery for 444 444-544

I am switching my 1957 pv444 from 6v to 12v.Does anyone know what 12v battery fits the same as the stock 6v battery fits?I don't have a 6v battery to get dimensions from.Any help much appreciated.

        Hey thanks the 26R is priced better than the miata battery.I'm going with your choice.

          Them Miata batteries have special venting for the trunk mount.. that equals $$$ that need not be spent..

            The old PV 6v battery is big anyway but the one listed for the 12v PV is a direct swap in. Nothing else has changed. New battery just have to fit and have the terminal correctly positioned to use the same leads. Battery width fore and aft has to be considered as if too wide it will be unstable and liable to tip over the edge of the box if you have to anchor up a bit quick. The standard mount isn't ideal so if the width of the battery is more than about 1" over the width of the box, beware.

          Bill Matusak had no issues fitting a 12V Battery in his 6-12V conversion...
