Door rubber seals 120-130

Does anyone have any tips for installing new rubber seals around the doors on a '68 2 dr.?( Special tools, lubrication, etc). Or do I just need lots of patience and a large vocabulary of 4 letter words? Thanks

If a 120 door is anything like a 544 door, I think it is near impossible to install the rubber seal on the front edge of the door unless it is first removed from the car. Tom

The seals on the 122 doors are accessible when the door is fully open. I didn't finish the drivers side since another car was preventing me from opening the door fully. I need to move some junk & roll the car outside.

Make sure the track is clear of pieces old seal, dirt and debris. Also check for dented/pinched sections of track. I have also seen rusted track and loose sections of track.

Use silicone spray for lubricating the seal while installing. Make sure to use pure silicone spray. Anything with oil will have to wiped down. Keep the spray handy as the silicone evaporates.

I get my silicone spray from my local Ace Hardware store.

Use a plastic tool to push the "T" shaped bottom of the seal into the track.

Thanks Eric for the tips. I installed the seal on the passenger door today, using spray silicone as you suggested. Since I didn't have a plastic tool I used one of those small picks with a hook on the end (Harbor Freight). It worked great to push the rubber into the channel. The other door will probably go twice as fast.
