#2 Fuel injector signal dead. 900 1991

Hello all, ''91 940se
#2 Fuel injector is not receiving a signal from the ecu.
Plug seems to be dead when tested with ohm meter.
What to do?

Have you switched the plug from another injector to the so-called-faulty injector to test if its the injector itself or the plug connection thats defective. Look for "pushed-in" terminals inside the injector plug too. These could be repaired. Whats the condition of the injector wire? Any breaks in insulation etc?

The wiring scheme is that ALL injectors share the same signal from ECU. In the ECU there is only one transistor (not MOSFET, yes I've studied several 900 series ECU) driving ALL the injectors simultaneously. The injector plug connections are interchangeable only limited to wire lengths.

    Regards,
    Amarin.

Don't know diddly about 900 ECUs, but that makes no sense to me as some cylinders would be getting a squirting on the exhaust stroke. Sounds like a lot of backfiring and waste of gas. Tom

Yup, Amarin is correct on all points for both Bosch and Regina fuel. Batch injection works smoothly, and it takes some thought to counter the intuitive.

OK Art, still don't know diddly about 900 FI as I have a super simple 544. After putting the old gray matter to work for awhile, I figured the injectors are in the head UNDER the intake valves...that would work if all fired at the same time as only one intake valve is open at any given time. I was thinking direct injection.
Thanks for putting my brain to work. With a 544 I just have fun...don't have all the relays, computers and wiring to worry about. Tom
