SHAKING 200 1993

Good evening all, replaced the timing belt and seals and valve hushers. Started car today, fired right up. When I put gear shifter in reverse, car shakes. Any thoughts.

    SHAKING 200 1993

You don't say how the car drives now. Shakes cold and warmed up? Just by percentages you'd have to suspect things that have been most recently touched. Belt off a notch? Tappet "bucket" inserted into wrong hole resulting in incorrect valve clearance? Did you have the spark plugs out? I'd imagine the ignition wires were disconnected at one end or the other. All vacuum hoses intact? Barring seeing anything obvious you'll have to look into the TB. - Dave

      VIBRATION 200 1993

All vacuum hoses are new, installed new spark plugs, didn't disconnect any spark plug wires. Made sure several times timing was correct. Warm or cold start, same results. Tonight started car again, moved shifter through all gears, same result in reverse, vibration. Drives fine! Could a worn transmission mount cause the vibration in reverse?

It’s possible it could be a worn engine or transmission mount. Strange it would show up right after you did the work though. Check everything you might have touched. Maybe you overlooked something.
