No start after sitting a few years 200 1986

Have been trying to start 86 245 with Manuel transmission.

Will run with starting fluid in intake

Checked 25 amp fuse

Checked fuel relay

Do you jump #4 and #6 fuse on right or left to bypass 25 amp fuse and fuel relay ?

Will car start without amm hooked up?

Seems like car not getting fuel.

Thanks as always for any help on this matter.

If the pump runs, try loosening the feed hose at the intake manifold. It's under pressure and may squirt.

One common problem on a car after sitting is a fail at the pickup tube in the tank: rusted off, clogged, perforations.

If car's been sitting, I pull the sender as a matter of course to test the in-tank pump and inspect the sending unit, hoses; and siphon out the old gas.

    Hi,

Bad gas is bad news a coming your way!

The older the gasoline gets the more likely it can turn into jelly inside the components and lines.

Here is a thread that covers a lot on checking out the fuel pumps and operating them that you might be looking for.

There is lots of threads on this subject on the Brickboard.
Yours is not the first to suffer the consequences of neglect.
