Bogging 700 1991

780 turbo. If it had a carb it would need an accelerator pump

Check the plug to the mass air sensor. One of the pins may have backed out, causing it to make a poor connection or none at all. This just about the only connector in the engine compartment that gets unplugged on a regular basis - when the air filter is changed. This happened to our 88 745 GLE when it had a tune-up by a Volvo dealer!

Also check your air cleaner. In our '90 744 TI, the top of the air box was lined with foam rubber - the foam failed and clogged the air filter.

Is it bogging only when the turbo gets involved? If so look for a blown turbo hose or perhaps a fault in the intercooler.
