Goes very lean on acceleration, tries to die. 700 1992

Installed fuel/air gauge. Car tries to die on acceleration, changed TPS, a little better, but gauge still goes full lean on goosing the throttle under load.
Tried using the Harbor Freight fuel pressure kit 97706 without success [acted like the test kit shraeder values didn't open]

Any suggestions? Acts like a carburetor car w/bad throttle pump.

Also, where can I get a M14x1.4 male female fitting, 3rd port not critical.

Volvo 740T 1992 ran great before this problem came up.

    1992 Volvo 240 Turbo, yes?

    If Turbo, verify no leaks of the air induction system from teh air filter onward. These hoses can lose seal as they age.

    Your 1992 Volvo 740 Turbo is Bosch LH-Jetronic and EZK116 engine control equipped. So check for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for fault conditions engine control encounters.

    Fuel rail Fuel Pressure Regulator? These can fial in several ways. One failure is the FPR not closing on throttle open more or throttle wide open, lowering or eliminating air intake manifold vacuum. The lower the vacuum, the higher the fuel pressure in the rail.

    Some have used a Schrader bike tire gauge. Comes with fuel spray doing so.

    As your 740 is Turbo, may want to check the Turbobricks site for info.

    Pull your AMM and see if it acts better. Limp mode.....If it does,replace it. How old is your fuel filter?

      New Fuel filter.
      I'm still worried about fuel pressure, spent 2 hrs today looking for Metric M14x1.5 fittings.

        I did this 20 years ago. Spent a lot more than 2 hours, and not on the Internet. Found this site, where I was given advice to hack a junkyard fuel rail for them. It has become the most valuable diagnostic tool no one else seems to have.







        But today, you can find the stuff on line instead of in the junkyard.

        I had ignored OBD red blinks until I read that unplugging the battery erased codes (Codes would not erase electrically if one did not clear a bad code.)
        Now, throws up 121 (air mass meter signal) 322 (air mass meter hotwire) and 113 (Fault in Fuel injectors)

        Unplugged air mass meter, really runs like poop. Can hardly drive, goes full lean on minor blip of throttle.

      Thanks...tried 3 spare MFMs...no change. (Will try again, since last trys I have bypassed cat converter (3 known cars misbehaved from plugged converters)

      Car ran significantly better w/o cat, but still wouldn't accelerate rapidly.

      Run's smoothly down road, after accelerating slowly to 40+, then goes full lean when I hit the throttle quickly. Comes close to dying.
