Parking Light Housing 1800 1970

Recently restored one of my front parking light/turn signal housings. It was intact, but rusty and the internals were frozen up. Attribute this mainly to the internal gaskets being hard and shrunken. I've replace them, but noticed that the other hiusing really should be replaced. Not the rubber parts, the lens or the chrome bezel, just the metal part housing the bulb. Wondering if anyone has one in usable condition, i.e. completely intact with all the bayonet mounting points functional and, if rusty, having some hope of being cleaned up back to near normal. Sorry for this flurry of posts, but after having accomplished my long-procrastinated front end rebuild, and now socially distancing because of the corona virus I'm flush with the time and motivation to fiddle with the car. Stay well!

Hello,

I should have a good used 1, but there are new repro backing plates that costs $59.00.

I had the same problem and I found one on e bay. - volvoguy.
But I have a question for you.
I put in a 1157 bulb. Signal flashes but when headlight/parking combo is turned on, the parking will not light up. Am I using the right bulb?

1157 is correct.

Check your connections and check the bulb.

Easy to check. There are two contacts in the housing. Using a 12V test light hooked to ground, turn on the parking lights and probe the two contacts to see if either lights the test light. If not, the problem is the housing or its wiring (assuming the other side parking light lights). If the test light lights it might simply be that the bulb isn't making proper contact. Make sure the contacts in the housing are springing freely and not corroded.
