Just ran my car 1989 745t through Delaware inspection and the exhaust reading were great. HC (ppm) 58 - Limit is 220 (ppm) CO (%) 0.18 - Limit is 1.20 (PPM) Inspector wanted to know if the engine was rebuilt. No! 233994 miles and just regular maintenance. Anybody have a clue what stander 745t emission reading should be?

    Original or replaced catalytic converter?

    I dunno the specs, searched for these, yet your emissions results appears rather excellent. And a Turbo also!

    I used to find the emissions limit by state. IIRC, your numbers handily win over the CA-state enhanced smog check also.

      Original cat. New 02 sensor and AMM. Setting the parameters with the flashing light test port lead. I do find that running high test gasoline runs the best.

        The “standard” was simply besting whatever the regs were for that year. Manufacturers usually built them a bit cleaner than the standard as I think they were required to beat the regs for 10 years - so they had to build in a bit of “lagniappe”....sounds like you have a solid engine there.
