Instrument Panel Temp Gauge 900

Hey guys - anyone have any easy fixes for the temp gauge on the instrument panel? I've checked the wiring on the back on the instrument panel, and all seems ok. I've previously had it out and refloated the solder points to fix the gas gauge.
My temp gauge will either not work at all, or bounce between where it should be and 0 all the time. I'm not having any overheating issues, and the car runs great.

Dear sunapeelakers,

Hope you're well. I vaguely recall a post, wherein it was reported that a temperature gauge itself had failed.

The usual cause of erratic temperature gauge readings is the sensor, which is part #1362645. It is available from www.fcpgroton.com for about $15. If the in-service sensor is the factory-installed item, it doesn't owe you a penny.

This sensor is on the driver's side of the head, under the intake manifold runners, towards the front of the head. You'll lose only a few drops of coolant, when you remove the sensor.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook

Spook,

Will I need to bleed the coolant system after changing it out due to air bubbles or should I be fine?

Thanks!

sounds good. It has been jumping all over the place, super erratic. would you still believe that to be the faulty sensor itself?

Be sure to leave the cap on the reservoir tight. Even if you're slow getting the new one threaded you'll only lose a thimble full of coolant. - Dave
