Anybody have any experience with using a Genuine Volvo trans mount on their 740/940? Is it actually made better or reboxed?

I don't think using non Volvo in this application is as noticeable as, say, the motor mounts for which I strongly recommend the Genuine Volvo. Nevertheless, having been burned so many times in the past, I think the extra money for Genuine Volvo parts is well worth it.

Been using genuine Volvo trans mount all these years except when its out of stock, then I'll use Febi. However they're not the same quality. Volvo's is better. Febi's rubber formulation is stiffer than genuine part with more vibrations transmitted into cabin. Nowadays the genuine part comes in Volvo branded plastic package, not in boxes anymore.

Another important aspect of using genuine part is that it makes the entire drivetrain quiet. This to prevent any latter issues of drivetrain noises which will be falsely thought of U-joint wear, central bearing support wear and such, whereas the original culprit was caused by using inferior trans mount.

Mark the carrier plate before removing. Easy to replace the mount.
