A/C install on 62 PV 544 444-544 1962

I would like to install an a/c unit in my PV. Living in CA,the summer temps. are now reaching into the 100s regularly. Any ideas on models, mfg. problems, links to web sites, ect. would be greatly appreciated.

There was a recent discussion here about retrofitting an AC system. Probably a worthwhile read particularly as it discusses compressor mounting, source for brackets, etc:

When it comes to it to actually make an installation, if you need a mounting bracket I have 2 made for B18/20 motors. They can be used to mount an original York compressor--or modified for a more modern unit. One mounts the compressor with a horizontal platform--the other at an angle. I have a variety of idler pulleys and brackets too. All at old Volvo friendly cost. -- Dave

This might give you some ideas. There’s probably more on YouTube, try searching this and other Volvo forums too.
