Have you considered looking at the pommy cars of a similar config with a similar engine for guidance? SU's are 1st choice for blowers.
I don't know much about the older Volvo donks, I'm a B18-B30 guy. First thing I investigated when I got mine B18B 142S was to look at the easy install of a B23, but I looked at the head & had it flowed & it is a complete POS with no cheap fixes.
SO: How much does the head flow? How many RPM's? How many $$$ ? Boost? Fuel?
SU's: They LOVE the smooth pull of a blower.
CAM: Depending on octane & compression especially, you need a much longer exhaust lobe + you need to keep the LSA wide enough to not loose too much air fuel down the exhaust.
