Hiya Folks,

When tire time, go to Walmart, for me, to try to be cheapo and avoid the tire shysters.

Prior tires were made by Cooper as StarFire 340. The made by Cooper tire is No longer made. These tires plowed through Spokane la nina snowy winters. Yet at around an 8" snowfall are the Hankook Winter Pike snows on the rear axle.

In snowier times would put on the Hankook Winter Pike on the rear axle.

Any ideas?

Sort of interested in the Summit HP Radial Trac II 195/70R14. No longer on the Summit site.

you could take a look at doral sdl sport. i was a longtime fan of cooper tires as well but now prices have risen. the doral is very similar, but way cheaper.

The 195/70R14 91T Cooper StarFire tires appear okay. 47$ each

Stamped Made in Mexico and M+S.

The Walmart spin balance is garbage. Worse I'd encountered.

And a taller final drive with these wider than 185 wide tires.

Already bought a set of USA-made Cooper StarFire Solarus tires.

Made in MI-state.

The print says M+S rated.

The tires are 18 pounds each at 195 70R 14. $50.44 each from and mounted for extra $ at Walmart. Same price for each tire at Amazon.

I recently ordered 2 tires for my truck, on-line from Walmart. They arrived at my door 2 days later. Will order 4 for my Volvo 122 in the near future. Fortunately I have the equipment (home made) to mount & balance them, so that saves me even more money. Ebay also has good deals on tires.

The sidewall stamp may say M+S rated.
