Type J Overdrive valve body stuck in case 1800

As part of the restoration on my '72 1800ES, I am going through the transmission and OD. Tranny will get new bearings along with gaskets and seals, and a few other minor parts. (Amazingly, most of these parts are still available from Volvo. Might be pricier and take a little while to come from Sweden, but they have a known quality level.) The OD will get new gaskets, seals and O-rings. I have the OD pretty much apart as far as I plan to take it. But, am having trouble getting the valve body out from the bottom of the dash pot. There is a great series of articles at: https://www.buckeyetriumphs.org/gearbox that goes into detail of the inner workings of the Laycock Type J OD. The article on disassembly describes how to make a substitute tool for Tool L401, which I easily made. However, the valve body is stuck in the casting. Applied PB Blaster and pulled hard to no avail. Anyone have any ideas on how to free it up without doing damage?
