Brake pedal fade 1800 1970

Everything was fine until the other day, as I was decelerating and applying the brakes, I felt my brake pedal slowly going to the floor! Reaching for my handbrake and simultaneously pumping the pedal, I got a little pressure and came to a stop. After I got home to survey the problem, I determined that there was no fluid leakage from the master or wheel cylinders or any of the brake line hoses. Both master cylinder reservoir's were full. Inspection of the intake manifold to brake booster vacuum hose was in good shape. I did test the one-way vacuum check valve for proper function. Is my problem the master cylinder or the brake boost cannister assembly? If it is one of those, who can provide me with a replacement? Thanks,

Master cylinder. Disassemble / Clean / Reassemble. Cost nothing but, your time. You can check the masters bore for pitting.
Remember to bench prime the master cylinder. 🔧🔨🔩

Maybe if you are VERY lucky but it sounds as if the non return valve has gone but could be damaged seal. Rebuild with a new service kit if available. A new MC is quick but might be spendy.

Bought a rebuilt from Planetman. Receipt was quick and after bench bleeding the master, had it installed the same day. Surprisingly, system bleeding was unnecessary as I had a hard pedal right away. Later on, I'll do a complete brake fluid refresh.

Just a correction to my master cylinder receipt from Planetman. Apparently, from the very reasonable price, I assumed it was a rebuilt, when in fact, it was a new one and a good buy.

You described the typical symptoms of a brake master failure.

We almost always have 1 of those brake masters in stock.

Originally, the brake master would come with a new brake fluid reservoir, but my supplier has them with or without a reservoir and you can save almost $30.00 if you want to reuse your old reservoir.

I triedto respond to your email address but it was rejected each time. As you have diagnosed, I want to order the master  cylinder without the reservoir replacement. Please send the order/payment instructions. Gregg Bambo 893 13th Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103  Ph: 801-550-0830.
      Thanks,
