door chime removal 200 1992

While I replaced a squeaking brake switch I found the blue chime and unplugged it.
Is there a problem in doing that as there are a lot of wires plugged into it?

If Volvo haven't changed the chime unit's function, then on my 240 unplugging it loses the seat belt (and the reminder lights) and lights-left-on warnings as well as the key-in. According to my wiring diagram, there should be no other consequences.

I did the same on my son's '89 wagon when it wouldn't stop chiming, and all that's happened is sanity has returned. We never leave the keys in the ignition anyway since you need them to lock up. I think it would only cause a problem if you still had the original radio? Wouldn't swear to that though.
