Dear Metallo,
Hope you're well. I stood aside, hoping that someone - who has worked on turbo-equipped engines - would reply.
In their absence, I note that the hose - attached to the orange pipe - is a heater hose. If the heater hoses (there's another one, on the other side of the head) are of uncertain age, you should replace them. If a heater hose bursts, all coolant will be lost in a minute or so. Unless the engine is at once shut-down, a head-gasket replacement may be needed.
The following comments are based on the parts diagram shown in Volvo VADIS, a superseded dealer parts/service database. I've never worked on a turbo-equipped engine.
The nipple - on to which the oil filter is mounted - needs to be removed, to remove the oil cooler. That will allow you to replace the gasket, between the cooler and the adapter.
I recall posts that suggested oil cooler hoses often are softened by oil drips during oil changes. You might want to replace those hoses, which - once everything is back together - are hard to access.
Hope this helps.
Yours faithfully,
Spook
