Forum Info wanted 1800

After a member couldn't contact me I checked and found that the email address on my account was one that is now defunct. Changed it to my current correct one and now I'm getting deluged by permalinks from Brickboard for all new replies across the various sections. How can I turn this off please. I visit more or less daily so don't need these prompts clogging up my inbox.
Thanks in advance!

Once again go to ALL and on the right side will be 'subscribe' and then check forums you wish to be notified when updated.

Interestingly, things are strange for me. I get responses to my posts, but I also get my responses mailed back to me??

It doesn't matter if I click the "Subscribe" bottom right or top left it still takes me to the PayPal link.
Yes, I get my posts and the replies sent back to me as well.
I'm sure I can cure this by editing my email address back to my old defunct address. That address was one belonging to a previous iteration of my internet provider. They shut down their email service.
I'd rather have it live in case someone does want to get in touch. Just being friendly!

You need to make sure you are properly logged in (log out then log back in if needed). Clicking on Subscribe on the right (under My Forum) should take you to a simple brickboard page with a list of forum email notification settings, try scrolling down if you don't see the settings. If it still keeps taking you to the Paypal link then a) try another browser or another device and try changing the subscription settings from there, or b) clear your browser cookies, deleting every cookie with brickboard in it is all you should need, but you may only have an option to clear all your browser cookies. If that still doesn't work then either something about your software setup is very different from the rest of us or your profile is somehow corrupt and you will need to contact the admin.

I didn't see that "subscribe" *I was clicking on the yellow icons.*
Logged out and logged back in.
"You can also choose to be emailed copies of posting from each forum. They
are intended to keep you in touch with the site at your convenience."
There doesn't appear to be a way of selecting that specifically.
The 7 Boxes at left were all set to N when I opened the page.
I've dumped the Brickboard cookies.
I fully expect to get this reply sent back to me as I haven't actually
changed anything!
I will blow the dust off my laptop but I doubt if that will be any
different.

Both this one and the Chrome test came back to me. The system might need to sort itself out so I'll see what the day brings.
Thanks for the help.

Derek,

Did you click on the RSS feed? That is a small orange Icon on the right side of the screen, after going to "all".

My RSS feed is off.

You’re always supposed to get an emailed copy of your own posts and direct replies to it as long as there is an email address entered in your profile. An address is not required there if you wish to maintain privacy. What shouldn’t be happening is getting notification of every new post in the forums where No is set in the Subscribe panel, which is the default for new users. If you're still being taken to Paypal and getting every new post from others then contact the admin. Corrupt user profiles and near duplicate entries do occasionally creep into the system, especially if Jarrod has been tinkering. If an email from the system has ever bounced (could even happen if your mail server is down) then that may have incorrectly changed something you can’t see. He’s usually busy on other matters and may take time to respond, but weekends are often best.

Up until this problem arose I had the old defunct address in my profile so I got no mails. Changing it to my current working one @gmail.com. has meant I now get mails. They privacy thing isn't a problem but I think I will just delete the email address so I don't get all of the Brickboard notifications. Pity the email address can't stay in my profile and at the same time enable me to choose individual/digest/none like you get with "normal" forums. I.O. for example.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Select the All tab on the top of the page and on the right side of the All page click on the Subscribe link. You should be able to turn off the notifications from inside the Subscribe page.

The subscribe link just takes me to the PayPal log in. Didn't go any further. I am already subscribed and have been for years. Any more ideas?

Make sure to click the correct Subscribe link! 1800

Not the yellow "Subscribe" link, but the "[Subscribe]" instead.

Yes I did find that one in the end but it has made no difference that I can see. I can't find a specific box to switch off the email notifications. I don't want a digest either. I will just delete my email in my profile if I don't get to the bottom of it. My inbox is getting clogged up.
