Electrical Connectors to Under Car Fuel Pump 900 1994

I am still planning a replacement of the under car fuel pump and filter.
Should I anticipate a problem getting the 2 electrical connectors to release off the old under car fuel pump? I think this is a LH2.4 system.
I would like to get a couple replacement connectors if there is a broken one doing the pump replacement. My daughter needs the car so I want to be ready for any problems. Does anyone know of a source?
Thanks again!

Dear jd620,

Hope you're well and stay so. If the connectors seem to be corroded, apply an aerosol anti-corrosive, e.g., Deoxit, daily, for a couple of days. Deoxit dissolves the corrosion, so should ease removal. If - after the external clips are pressed - the connectors don't come free with a gentle tug, then apply some PB Blaster, Kroil, or another penetrating oil. Given a day or so, the connectors should separate.

When you attach the connectors to the pump's terminals, apply dielectric grease. That will help to inhibit corrosion.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook

Personally I don't think you will have a problem getting them off.

Each connector is held in place with two spring like clips. There is no metal to corrode and create a problem. Just make sure you have both clips squeezed to raise the ends enough to clear the lip on the pump side of the connection. My experience is that they come free quite easily.

The stock wires for the fuel pump use the notorious rubber boots which are critical for good connections. They also use a removeable and breakable plastic retaining sleeve that goes around the rubber boot that has retaining clips that help hold each wire the fuel pump.

AFAIK, Volvo never sold the crimp connectors and boots to replace the stock ends, but they did sell a pigtail which is a length of wire that has the crimp connector and boot already attached. The retaining sleeves are available.

We have new ones in stock if you want new.
