130 door question 120-130

Hello, I am parting out a 64 130. A guy wants to buy my drivers door. In the past I put a door from a 64 220 on my 66 220, when I went to install the door panel/card I found the the holes on the later style door panel did not fit the earlier door. So I had to start all over. I want to avoid this guy having the same problem. Are 64' 130 doors the same as 67' 130 doors? or was that just on 4 door vehicles?

Unless the 1964 Volvo had a door replaced, it will have a different location for the door pull screws.

At some point Volvo started selling universal doors that allowed for mounting the door pulls in both locations.

This is why the new door panels don't come with pre-punched holes.

Didn't know that. I just knew that the location of the handles didn't match. now I know how to spot a replacement door.

Interesting. The interior, including the door cards are a different pattern on the later cars after the change of style for the 65/66 models. I'm surprised that Volvo changed the pattern of holes for the retainers. The handles and winders changed their shapes too but I think they interchange OK.
