Holley carb verses Weber 444-544

Hey to yas. I am wondering if there is any preference over which carb is better than the other? Holley verses Weber DGV 32/36.

    What Planetman said X2 444-544

    32/36 is a for a 100BHP donk, perfect for a B18D.
    38/38 is for 125BHP
350 & 500 cfm Holley's work great, but you must fit PVCR's to it.

If you are building a B20B with K cam or VV-61, then HS6 SU's with KD or KN Needles or HIF6 with BBB Needles & Stock springs WITH the stock style exhaust manifold.

The 32/36 DGV/DFV Style carbs are designed to be emmisions carburetors, not performance pieces.

    Holley carb verses Weber 444-544

I have experience with and a few of both Weber and Holley (Ford Pinto) 32/36 carbs. The main difference is in features -- water heater or electric for the choke - vacuum ports -- ease of linkage for the application. Personally I prefer SU's and that's what I have on my somewhat modified B20 -- but I also successfully mounted 2 Weber 28/28 carbs (from 2 Renault LeCars) and it ran great--got 28mpg and very responsive--but I did go back to SU's. The 32/36 is versatile, simple, easy to mount and mostly trouble free. They do require that you dial in the jetting. -- Dave

I also prefer SU carbs, specifically the HS6, for all stock and mild performance Volvo B18/B20 engines.

If you have to put on a 2 barrel downdraught carburetor, I recommend a Weber 38/38 DGAS synchronous carburetor. It uses the same intake manifold and linkage as the DGV and are available with a manual or electric choke.
