Sorry if this has been covered before as I could not find anything.

Anyhow. I've got a 93 245. I added a hayden oil cooler (Size Is 3/4 Inch X 11 Inch X 9-1/2 Inch) in front of the radiator between the Condenser. Which made the car run very hot. I have a tropical clutch and the original electric fan in front of the condenser.

My question is can I mount the hayden anywhere or does it need to have airflow coming through it?

I'd like to make a bracket and mount it behind the passenger side between the headlight and the windshield washer reservoir"

Any advice or recommendations?

oops forgot to mention it's a transmission cooler.

Your radiator already has the cooler within the raditor. Does the cooler system still flow through the radiator and and cooler or are you bypassing the radiator? The original is much better.

I'm trying to protect my transmission when towing a trailer. I plan to use the built in cooler in the radiator along with the aux cooler in line.

Build a mount thats in front of everything as far forwards that you can without actually mounting/touching the condenser. This will allow more hot air to circulate and disperse without creating a hot spot. Use Mobile 1 transmission fluid..

there's no way to put something in front of the condenser because there is a large electric fan in the way. Stock equipment in 1993.

Get some Stainless flat stock and make a bracket that is just below the rad fans and angled top first. That's what worked on my 92 245.
