1992 245 Turn signals are not working 200 1992

4 way flashers work fine but turn signals don't! Does this sound like a failed turn signal switch?

Thanks
Dan

Fuse 5. If the '92 has an M47, the cause could be in the wiring to the backup light switch.

How come nothing rhymes with orange?
What? Nothing doesn’t rhyme with orange?

      92 is an auto.
      Thanks

Then fuse 5 is probably not blown, it just needs to be rolled.

Fuse 5 was blown and blinkers are working!

Fuse 6 is fairly hot but not yet blown.

          Thanks Art!

Blown? Oh, I can't suggest a common reason in the automatic. Fuse 5 in a '92 runs the backup lights and power mirrors in addition to the directional signals. You could try those things to see if they work without kicking the fuse. Should be a 16A fuse (red).

Guess without history, I'd look for a chafed wire at the shifter pizza switch or maybe among the mirror controls at the p-brake console, assuming the stalk switch for the turn signals isn't falling apart.

#6 should get warm with the motor running. It protects all of the engine management same as the one under the hood did in the 90 and earlier models. Uncomfortable on your thumb warm, not sizzle warm. Also a 16A.

              ART

BLINKERS WORK FINE while car is idling in reverse. I may have inadvertently blown the fuse during a recent replacement of the NSS

              Thanks again
