940 drivers door lock mod 900

My drivers door had a bad habit of locking when simply trying to open the door.
The diagnosis was to replace the drivers door lock/latch assembly that had a weak
or broken spring and is no longer available.

I formed the locking lever so that there is a slight bind in the door panel bushing
by the locking lever button or whatever you call it.
It's been fine for over a year now.
When replacing the door panel you need a little pressure to force the link
away from the outside of the door to find the bushing in the panel.
I do keep a spare key in my wallet as should every 940 owner in case this problem suddenly appears.

I have an idea to stash a spare key in the car, email only, see my profile.

    Lockout protection 900

Many years ago when my youngest was a new driver, I took one of the magnetic reed switches from a bulb-out sensor and placed it just behind the windscreen glass near the edge. Wired it in parallel with the central locking switch and gave her a magnet to conceal. No keys were ever locked inside the car. Hiding a key would have been a simpler approach.
