SU Carb Identification 444-544

I have a well preserved 1962 PV544 with a '72 B20 B engine. Along the way someone did a Weber conversion and it runs and drives very nice. Problem is, it lacks the "cool" factor of the stock twin SU carbs. I want to change it back.
I have acquired a complete SU Carb package with the intake and exhaust manifolds, linkage, air cleaners. Everything except the choke cables. The SU carbs are each tagged AUD 252. I am having no success tracking down the original application from that tag so that I can order the correct rebuild kits. All indications are that the SU carbs are an HS6, but there are many variations of that model. Can anyone help me determine what Volvo the AUD 252 carbs and manifolds might have originally come from?

Thanks.

The AUD252 version of the HS6 SU carb was used in US market 1967-1968 Volvo 144 for the B18B engine. See application chart below for parts and rebuild kits. You'll see there that your B20B engine originally used an AUD331 in the '68 144S (the page ends there), while the full catalogue (below) indicates it was also used in non-US market '69-'70 144S (US market B20B used AUD388 in those years). I see comments in other forums cautioning that the AUD tags can easily be switched such as during a rebuild or conversion. All polished up, that will be a super look under the hood of your '62 544.

If you haven't found it yet, there's tons of info, parts, kits, maintenance and adjustment on the SU website
https://sucarb.co.uk/
Now that you know the model and years you can do a search for parts starting on the home page there. In the technical section is full information on the HS type carbs and needles. Lots of other good stuff if you poke around on that site.

An online version of a full SU catalogue can be found here:

Here's the application chart. A similar one is in the full catalogue (pp124-127):

Thank you Dave. The information you provided is exactly what I need to get started
on identifying and rebuilding these SU carburetors. Much appreciated.
