Koni front strut inserts--cutting the strut tube required? 200

Now shopping for shocks and strut inserts for our 1993 240 sedan. I've used Bilstein HDs in the past, but their strut inserts don't fit the ABS cars. Also, I'm leery of their touring model as the rear shocks have a reputation for being noisy (still a problem?).

Finally decided to go with Koni, but just read the following note on the FCP-Euro website:

"Requires re-use of OE strut housing, which needs to be cut. Instructions are included, please see the video attached to this listing."

I watched the referenced video, but not sure it applies to the Volvo 240 strut...but thought I better make sure BEFORE I buy.

Any insights or BTDTs would REALLY be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I checked in with Ben at Kaplhenke/BNE. He said that the Volvo 240 strut tubes do NOT need to be cut as shown in the video. There is a Koni gland nut that is used instead. Ben has them in stock.

    Hopes this helps!

1229423 spacer is needed when fitting some struts in 240s. i THINK but do not know that the turbo struts are shorter than non-turbo. i have installed boges in a car and didn't know about them and the play was about an 1.5 inches. how much does koni say to cut off?
