Hi Erik,
välkommen to the brickboard.
I'm unsure differences between US market factory stock 1989 740 and what you have for your 1989 Sweden market 780.
Best bet is to go to an auto parts website like FCP Euro or iPd USA and sort by model year to see what brake pad options are available for your 1989 740.
iPd 700 brake pad page:

FCP 780 brake pad page.
https://www.fcpeuro.com/Volvo-parts/780/Brake-Pads/?year=1989&m=20&e=914&t=5&b=9&d=42&v=11
The PBR organic pads in your image are most like what Volvo sells.

What we don't know is what make or brand of front or rear brake caliper you have. These can be Bendix or Girling or ATE. The PBR AXXIS website indicate either Bendix or Girling calipers are used on 780.
Here is the USA PBR AXXIS brake pad website:

Another brand is Bosch at least in the US market. The QuietCast brake pads are usually organic or may be ceramic.
The part numbers you find at these US part site may be the same as you find in Sweden.
One cannot look at a brake pad and know the replacement.
Also, the brake rotors may need replacement.
If the brake fluid is dark or black, you must flush in new DOT 4 brake fluid. You can use a Motive brand power bleeder to flush out old brake fluid and flush in new. Black brake fluid can cause seized brake calipers and other problems.
Questions?
Hope that helps.
