I will start by saying I am probably the last person who should be giving information on electrical issues. However, I ran across this post on a 911 forum and thought someone might find it interesting/useful if they have a non-working small clock that they would like to try to fix.

I have always subscribed to the nothing ventured, nothing gained adage.

1980 Volvo 245 - Square VDO clock
Runs great - but when temperature drops over nite it stops - warm no problem - capacitor problem

Makes sense that it would be a capacitor problem. The one in my 79 still keeps time in excellent fashion, so that clock isn't among those I've seen the insides of.
