adding pix to brickpix 444-544 1961

I am having a problem uploading some pix. I get a server error or it keeps wanting me to login. My pix size is small enough.
Do I need to subscribe to upload pix?

Thanks
Ray J.

Disregard my first response. My browser will not allow me to edit it.

I have always had problems trying to use the Brickpix option.

I use imgur.com. You can up load your images there and then add them using this handy tutorial provided by Art:

Thank you very much. I used photobucket once apon a time.

I have had a few 1 bolt many days ordeals when converting my 1961 544 to Volvo 245 front disc brakes or installing a ford rear end or mating a supra trans to my chevy 4 cylinder. Wish I could leave well enough alone.

      Thanks again.

      Ray J.

Including an image to your post 444-544 1961

Simplest thing is to host your own image on an upload site. Copy the web URL for the image then include it in the following HTML in your brickboard post where you want the image inserted:

        <img src=url width=700>

There is no practical limit to the image size other than you own host. The scaling width can be varied as needed, up to say 1200 pxl, but 600-700 is a good starting point. Use the post EDIT function as needed, which is also slightly broken at the moment. The image will of course no longer display in the future if it's dropped/deleted by your host, unlike Brickpix where it's hosted by brickboard.com

        Hope that helps

Uploading Image to the BrickPix Image Gallery. 444-544

The Brickboard BrickPix image gallery is fussy to upload images.

The image cannot be large than 1024 kilobytes, or one megabyte. Image size matters not as much yet the message column in the board appears to prefer around 900 pixels of pixel width.

Can you use simple HTML 3.x or 4.x?

On the BrickPix image gallery, you have control as to category. CARS is default.

        (1) To open the image upload dialogue, press Ctrl and click the:
        ADD A NEW EXHIBIT.

        (2) You can again press Ctrl and click AUP. May the image be your own work that you upload.

        (3) Do not enter any information into the form.

        (4) Click the [Submit My Image] button.

The form reloads with additional fields.

        (5) Enter your Username and Password.

        (6) In the YOUR IMAGE FILE box, click the
        - Mozilla Browse ... button.
        The File Upload dialogue displays.
        - Edge / Chrome / Chromium Choose File ... button.
        The Open file dialogue displays.

        (7) Navigate to the image and double-click the file.
Or select the image file and and click Open

        (8) Click Submit My Image

The system upload the image. In the new page ...

The BrickPix appears not to support uploading of new images. No matter image size in width and height.

To be continued indeed when working ....

            Hiya BB,

I'll finger it owt and sends you an email.

            Ya, BrickPix is das kaput.

Imgur is not good to post to anymore. It got fancy. Photobucket is the worst and costs you money.

You can use a google gmail account and upload images to google drive, mark as publicly accessible, and embed the link in your message. I do this for my tech writer portfolio. May do this for Volvo stuff here.

Google is sort of evil now. Yet can't use Protonmail as easily.

Maybe more evil than this English muffin? No melty salty butter or strong earl grey tea with hunny and milk.

Hope you and everybody and your Volvo are all aces!

I guess Uncle Jarrod is ultra busy hopefully makin' the big bux with his systems security business.

Mr. Walker also found Uncle Owld Duke. Need some more Stinking Creek stories while traveling Tobacco Road.

Can I ask what has changed with your interaction with Imgur.

Personally there have been several times when I had a problem with it not displaying all the images I have uploaded. Also at one point it would not give me all of the available options of how I wanted to use those images.

At this point it seems to have reverted back to how it was in the not too distant past.

                Hi Mr. Starkie!!!!!!

Hope no moar broken bolts in your Volvo adventuring!!!!!

It is more like a SnapChat and not merely an image hosting tool to post links in your brickboard. I only use the website yet that was a long time ago.

I've used BrickPix exclusively up to now. Yet is broken.

With a Gmail account you have Google Drive and so you can configure a file or a directory and all files therein as publicly available if the user has the link to the file.

A web search reveals other image hosting sites that are listed as somehow better than Imgur.

I'll use the Google Drive like here and some search for an EGR blanking plate for the kittys splotchy grey 1991 Volvo 240:

Also free with the Gmail account! Works not quite the same as Uncle Art tells us to do so. You use the embed command and copy the iframe link and paste here. Rather use the img src.

                  Still cannot load any pictures.
Initially it gives me a red login on user name on the brixpix page.
If I logout and back in on brixpix page the user name and password are both red.
I login and select pix then submit I get the following message.

                  Internal Server Error

The pix size is 623 by 571 so that meets the size requirement.

                  Any suggestions?
Have left messages for Jarrod but have not received any replies.

                  Thanks
