Went fishing today..in the rear lens! 700 1991

For a while now , I have been driving with a bulb failure indication and decided to see which was the culprit. It turned out to be the drivers side (Left) rear outer parking bulb , ( there are two in each assembly). I removed the bulb panel only to discover that the bulb in question was missing ! I was expecting to see a blown bulb! WTH ! I have never had this situation before. So where could the bulb be? Well , I looked through the lens from the outside and saw the bulb laying down calmly in its compartment. How am I gonna get this out? A a pair of curved pliers or tweezers would not work as the bulb was way out of reach, not to mention there was no way for any of these to grip the bulb. Even if there was good grip it would have been physically impossible to work within the half inch bulb hole. So I came up with the idea of using a thin but stiff piece of wire bent at the end to hook the bulb and bring it near the hole. It worked like a charm! So now , how was I gonna get the bulb out? Luckily I had a roll of aluminum tape, that hvac folks use ,and I attached it to a "hobby stick" ( kinda like the stick you see in a Hagan Daaz ice cream bar} With this I was able to stick it to the bulb and fished it out!!!
I reinserted the bulb its socket and walla, it worked. No more bulb failure light. Now the question is, what made that bulb fall out of it socket?
