PV444 Headliner Install 444-544

Getting ready to start my first ever attempt at a headliner install using a kit I bought from VP Auto Parts 10+ years ago. Have looked at some YouTube videos and the very general instructions on the VP website. Any real world cautions/tips from those who have done it appreciated.

One problem I see is that the kit uses a cable that goes around the rear window that is different from what I removed from the original headliner. The old one was a tightly wound spring that went over the top and down sides, hooking to the package shelf area. The new one goes all the way around window surround and has eyelets to hook the two ends. I cannot figure out how to "fish" the new one across the bottom so I am planning to try it reusing the old one. Any info about this escially appreciated.
