The original ignition coil is a 12v coil that does NOT need a ballast resistor.

Be aware that some coils have smaller outer diameters, so you might need to wrap the coil with some closed cell foam or rubber to make the stock mounting bracket hold the coil tightly.

I bought a NGK U1163 coil, which was supposed to fit, but when it came, printed on the front said, Internal Resistor. I have not installed it yet. And don't know if I should.

Since that coil indicates that it has an internal resistor, you don't need an external resistor.

FYI, I can't remember ever seeing a coil marked that way so I can understand your confusion.

Thanks for your help, I could be wrong, but I think that my car doesn't need the resistor feature.I have the b20e engine

I didn't say that you did need an external resistor.

I would interpret the "Internal resistor" label on the coil you purchased as meaning that you don't need an external resistor!
