740 Turbo Removal--Can I Remove A/C Receiver/Dryer or How to Remove Top Oil Line Tips

Bah--trying to remove the turbo to stop the smoke out the tailpipe. Got it all disconnected and free but haven't removed the oil line to the top of the turbo so its really in the way even though I tried to work the manifold past it.

There's a 19mm bolt (It is 19mm?) on the engine block for the oil line in a real inconvenient spot between the oil cooler and the block where I can barely get a wrench on it. But I did get a wrench on it enough to have rounded it off a bit and it's not moving. Hm.

So I'm reticent on that now I want to remove the AC Receiver/Dryer to try to get everything out THEN remove the stupid oil line with a proper grip on the wrench hopefully but my manual says DON'T TOUCH THE AC SYSTEM--ONLY PROFESSIONALS!!!!!!

The AC hasn't worked in years--is it pressurized gas, can I disconnect the lines to the Receiver/Dryer to move it?

This task is feeling like I bodged it so I don't want any explosions at this point I just want to get it out thanks if someone can help.

The AC is charged with either R12 or the modern replacement. Neither will "explode". They just leak gases into the air. At this point there's probably not much left in the system but you can have it safely removed by having an AC shop evacuate the refrigerant. If you've a mind to plow right ahead and just open it up -- crack the lines slowly and just enough to hear it relieving pressure. Once that's done cap the openings. -- Dave

Well I got the manifold and turbo out. Had photo but can't upload it. Didn't have to remove oil line or AC dryer. You can technically get it out without removing the oil line it's real fiddly and strains the line but its possible probably not a great idea and hard not to mess up your wheel well but anyway. Now I gotta still disassemble the oil cooler and take the line out and figure out these weird bolts on turbo to manifold. Thanks for help.
