engine cylinder head for B21F 200 79

it seems I might have one or more cracks in my cylinder head. Does anyone know if there is a source for a new one? My Volvo agent (in New Zealand) says they are not available new any more. I'll probably get it fixed, it seems that most of the used ones are corroded to some extent.

BTW, I think this problem has come about because of the genius owner(s) before me (1) not using the green stuff in the coolant (causing corrosion) and (2) blocking off the heater. And I did'nt know any better regards (2) either.

Folks, you probably know that the water pump recirculates water from the head (via the heater whether on or off) through the motor.

now about a New head, anyone???

Lynton

I believe that you can use any head (B23F, B230). The B230 need a plug in the back of the head where the modern distributor goes.

Re: engine cylinder head for B21F 200 79

pity to hear of your head job problem. i just spent $800 having my '75's welded and faced after corrosion damage - seems its previous owner didnt like green either. as for cracks, well there are plenty of second hand heads about here in adelaide. i guess sydney would have plenty too - a bit closer for shipping to nu zlnd. as for newies, i dont know, and who knows at what proice? good hunting.

dave, sa
