Limited slip lubricant? 200 1989

What's recommended as lubricant for limited-slip differentials?

Re: Limited slip lubricant? 200 1989

I had an 83 RX7 with factory LSD, and it made horrendous groinky-grindy sounds in low speed turns until I filled it with GM gear lube for LSDs (as used in Vettes). But I'm willing to bet the Amsoil lube is just as good and will last longer. I'll be using that in my new Dana 30 LSD unit in the 285.

Steve,

I have tried several different lubes and for reasons I don't understand, anything besides Volvo LSD lube gave me trouble.

Either the very expensive Volvo juice or the Very good Amsoil synthetic gear oil. (Such as the Series 2000 gear oil, 75W-90 or 75W-140)
