Stuck Odometer 444-544 1991

My odometer stuck at 146,999 miles.

The speedometer shop says the electric odometer motor needs cleaning.

To me it seems like the counter gears need work. Has anyone had experience with this. Can one buy just a new counter or just a motor?

All advice would be appreciated.

Let me get this straight. You have a 1991 544 with an electric

odometer motor???

Tell us what you REALLY have and we can maybe figure out what the

problem is. I can tell you for sure that there is nothing electric

in a 544 odometer, though. The odometer is powered by the speedo

cable and is nothing more than a gear train attached to a revolution

counter.
