Rides like a brick 700 87

I have installed new Boge rear shocks and front control arm bushings. There are newish Michelns all the away around with 38# of air pressure. Problem, the wagon rides very harshly, sorta like a brick! Any suggestions?

All you've got to do is read the recommended tire pressure on the door sticker and the maximum allowable pressure on the sidewall to figure out that you've got higher pressure in the tires than either of those ratings. Unless you're running load range "C" tires.

    Re: Rides like a brick 700 87

I have an 88' 740 GLE Wagon. I run 205/60-15 XGTH4 Michelin Pilots on a set of 760 wheels. I also have new Boge turbos front and rear. I run tire pressures of 30 psi front and 32 psi rear. I don't know what size or style of Michelin you a running, so I cant advise you further. I haul moderate loads (boat gear). I don't know what size or model of Michelin you're running, but my wagon is fine and rides as good as a stodgy nordic box can, which is plenty smooth enough. When the tires were installed they were set to 36 psi and it was obvious that was too much air. The Volvo will never ride like my girlfriend's STS Cadillac, but hey - if we needed a couch, we'd have shopped at Levitts, right? :-)

    Good Luck

    Phil

Lower the pressure on your tires.
