Left turn signal flashing very fast...left Front bulb does not wrk 700 1987

This morning when I used my left turn signal on my 1987 Turbo Wagon, it started flashing very quickly, indicating, I thought, that a bulb was burned out. Sure enough, the left front turn signal was not working, so I replaced bulb.

Did not help. Checked fuses, etc.

The rear left turn signal works fine, but blinks very fast.

Anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?

Thanks,

James

I had a intermitent problem with the front right sig. Fast blinking and no light.last week I went to Volvo and got a new socket for the bulb for $15.00. Replaced the old one and the problem is gone.

/// Find the flasher unit before it stops making noise and replace it. There are so many small boxes, relays etc, under the dash, you will have a more difficult time locating it if you wait.

Check the contacts in the bulb socket for corrosion and spring tension. After time the contacts can loose their tension. Simply take A pair of needle nose pliers and lift up on the contacts being careful not to lift to hard.

This is usually a bad ground problem. Unfortunately, the bulb is the easiest fix. Your turn signal circuit has a bad ground somewhere. I would check at the light assemblies first since they are a great source for this problem. Did your bulb out indicator light on the dash become lit after you noticed the front turn signal bulb was burned out?
