84 wagon shocks 200 84

Cousins:

My 'new' '84 245 needs shocks and some suspension bushings. Are Bilsteins THAT MUCH BETTER than Boge Turbo Gas shocks? 2X + price differential. Anybody know a good source for the above?

Re: 84 wagon shocks 200 84

I can't compare Bilsteins vs Boge Turbo Gas, because I have never used the Boges. I installed Bilsteins on my '90 245, and I really, really like them. Way better than OE (Boge Automatic, I think) and Gabriel gas shocks. Worth every penny in my opinion, especially if you plan to keep the car for a long time.

The Bilsteins provide excellent control, and the ride is firmer but smoother. I know that doesn't really make sense, but that's the only way to describe it. You can feel the paint stripes, but speed bumps don't feel much bigger than the paint stripes.

Best source for shocks and struts is RD Enterprises at www.shox.com. The prices cannot be beat, and service is excellent. No relation except as a satisfied customer.
