Large Tach Hook-Up 200 90

Bought used large tach to replace large clock in my DL. Need help in connections. The tach has 3 hook-ups on top( +58 +30 -31 ) and 2 on the bottom labelled "JMP" "12V" "1". I think both on the bottom are joined together. The 240DL has a red/white wire but also a 4 wire harness with an end plug with the following no.s and connected wires:

1 - green(contant 12V)

2 - blue/yellow

3 - gray

4 - red

Going for broke, with ignition off, I touched the single red/white wire to the +30. That lit all the pre-start check lites! That was with ignition key off! So here I am. Come on Stoney and others-what to do? Thanks In Advance
