Sunroof Sticks... 700 1986

My sunroof while opening to the full open position sticks and starts to go slow in a certain spot. Once it gets all the way open it moves forwards and backwards just fine. Also, my sunroof seems to open slower then I would think it should. My friend drives a 91 940Gl and his power sunroof opens quite a bit faster then mine. How do I fix this?

Lubricate the sliding surfaces and the cables (seen when viewed from the side.) Use a high-quality spray lube such as Mobil 1 spray.

My sunroof won't even fully open. It lifts to the venting position ok but won't recede. The rubber seal appears to have a bit of perishing. (760 129,000mls) Are these seals available anywhere?

The seal is replaceable from Volvo dealers. You may have a motor problem, a binding cable or a linkage stuck.
