More Wheels 140-160 75

I own a '75 164 and was wondering if the bolt pattern differs from that of the 240 series. I want to upgrade the wheels and stay volvo. Ideally i would like to put the 25spoke gl wheels. Any comments, concerns or ideas would be very helpful. Thanx in advance

Re: More Wheels 140-160 75

Just donīt throw those original 5.5x15xET25 wheels away, they were o-n-l-y on the ī75 164 and will be correspondingly difficult to find if you want them again someday.

The nice thing, however, is that all the ET20-ET25 200/700/900 wheels will fit without problems.

/Martin

Re: More Wheels 140-160 75

I agree with keeping the original wheels. What is the best size tire to put on the 5.5x15xET25's. I would like somthing wide, but not to thin in profile.

Re: More Wheels 140-160 75

I've got 15's on my 145. Turbo wheels, fit fine. I used to have 240 steel wheels on it before with no problem. I have a set of gl 25 spoke wheels w/snow tires for the 145 now that I haven't tried on it yet. I hope they fit, if not I'll just cut the dust sheilds smaller.

Go with the turbo wheels... look better.

Re: More Wheels 140-160 75

The bolt pattern is the same. Potential problem: Your 164 may have come stock w/15inch wheels. In this case the smaller inner diameter of the GL 25 spokers may not fit. I attempted this on my 142 - they would not fit over the sheetmetal backing of the brakes. Consequently, I have a nice set w/ very excellent tires for sale (on the IPD site). Good luck, Dennis
