Does anyone know where I could find a schematic that includes the cruise control wiring for my 87/245DL?

I'm looking at the broken control unit from my 86 240. Volvo part # 1357881.

Pin 6 has an orange wire with a female spade connector on the other end.

Volvo service manual TP 30866/2 has a different cruise control wiring diagram than yours for 1986 and later models. Shows orange wire connected to instrument cluster among other differences. No wires connected to pins 7 & 8 of my control unit either.

Mine came from Haynes — and some folks have a real problem with Haynes. This schematic could be wrong.

If you have an "official" schematic, posting it would benefit others.

Don't have scanner yet so I can't post the Volvo schematic. If you have the Bentley 240 service manual there are 3 cruise control schematics in section 360: figures 33, 34 and 35. Figure 34 for the 86-89 cars is a reprint from the Volvo service manual.

Looks like your Haynes schematic is somewhat similar to the 1990 and later versions with the "dedicated motorized vacuum pump."

E-mail me if no one posts a better source, and I can send you one by snail mail. I don't have a scanner. Check your switches, fuse, and vacuum hoses first. Most cruise control failures are not a wiring issue. The wiring generally does not fail, unless disconnected. Hoses, vacuum pumps, and switches fail.

Buy a set of pads and ask the dealer at the same time, maybe they'll be nice. I know a mechanic at my local dealer, so that was easier.
