O2 sensor 200 1983

Hi, I have an '83 244 T car and I am replacing the exhaust manifold with an '88 740 T manifold. Have not been able to find a "good" 240 T manifold so I am going with the 740. The problem I am having is finding an

18x1.5 mm nut or "bung" to fit the O2 sensor. I need to drill a hole in the down pipe and weld on this nut/bung if I can get one. So has any one done this and if so where did you get the nut/bung for this? I can not find one and I am in NEED of it. If anyone has any or can get any PLEASE let me know. I need 3 if possible. Any help in this would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Jim JMandJD@juno.com

Re: O2 sensor 200 1983

Jim,

Look around for a hot rodder muffler shop or check some of the hot rodder catalogs, like Summit. But I'll bet one of the muffler shops that does a lot of custom work will have a bin full of 'em.

Re: O2 sensor 200 1983

If all you are doing is plugging the hole, you can use an old sensor, an old spark plug and if you need to weld in a receiving hole, I would bet a good muffler shop would have them available. Or you could cut one out of an old pipe and weld it in.
