lights won't go out:new problem 200 1986

earlier i posted a question about my 240dl. my headlights wouldn't work. ireplaced my step relay and my light switch and the headlights wouldn't work. well i replaced the main relay under the dash and now all the lights work but the parking lights won't go out when i turn off the switch and i know i've installed everything right. also the bulb failure light still doesn't illuminate when i turn on the ignition. any ideas out there?

i can't help with your light problem but, i might be able to help you cope with it. get a red and green bulb (paint them if needed) and putone in each socket, park it in the front yard and as people drive by, they'll think you're just being festive for the holidays.

Re: lights won't go out:new problem 200 1986

I haven't got an answer for you on your headlight problem, but if your bulb out idiot light isn't coming on with the others at startup then it's likely the bulb is blown (or has been pulled by someone). Many owners would consider this a blessing. It's also possible that the bulb out sensor is shot, but usually the idiot light stays on when this happens.
