Correction to chrome mirror question. 200 1976

I just woke up & realized the chrome side view mirrors I asked about a few days ago are actually stainless steel. I found these on a 1976 244. Does anybody know if they were standard equipment on this car, an option, maybe transplanted from some other Volvo ? They have the Volvo logo & part # stamped in the back. I retrofitted a set on my '84 to correspond with the quad round light setup. The ones I used were from a '75 164E. Fit like a champ. Just make sure to get the panel that goes on the inside of the door (the little triangle) without the hole.

Believe this was stamdard fare in those days. The 78s had them and they were not the first.

They're great mirrors. Big and shiny. We have a set on our 78. The only disadvantage is that you have to roll down the window to adjust them.

The shiny mirrors, oval in shape were used until 79 or 80 on everything. The black ones showed up then. Either will fit on anything back to 74 if you have the right hardware.
