my girlfriend's muffler. It's not a personal problem. Just wondering if welding it back on is a worthwhile solution, or if I should just replace the whole damned exhaust. Exhaust has 65-75K on it and there are some leaks. Who has the best price on a complete exhaust (cat->back) for an 88 240DL?

Jake -- FCP of Groton has good prices on cat-back systems. If you live in New England or Mid-Atlantic states, their shipping is overnight.

If you're starting to get leaks elsewhere, I'd replace the whole thing and be done with it. It's easier anyway to just hack-saw off the the cat bolts and throw away the rusty system and start bolting/clamping the new one on.
