Volvo parts 200 1980

Are there any websites around that offer factory Volvo parts. I know about IPD aftermarket parts and some of the other guys selling used parts, but what I am looking for is the equivalent to going to your local Volvo dealer parts counter for factory new parts. I have a 1980 242GT and it's starting to need quite a bit of TLC and parts to keep it going.

I just order a breather hose and some other little stuff for my Volvo, cost: half off. Dealer charges $20. I got mine for $9. I like these guys, got my stuff the next day! Finally I am getting original parts that cost less than aftermarket parts. Go figure.

There seem very good and I like them.

Cheapest prices for oem volvo stuff, and I've checked around.

Also, a guy named Tony Verrigni, if you can find his email.

Try Swedishengineering.com. They support the Brickboard and have given me good service. Don't know if they are the cheapest but they sure beat the nearest dealer.

Re: Volvo parts 200 1980

I would use RPR they are in Oakland CA. Order their catalog...the best reference source for Volvo parts I've ever seen... I've used them for a 75, and 80 and an 87.

Re: Volvo parts 200 1980

/// There are several dealers, Boston Volvo is one, that offer discounts if you do not live inside another dealers territory. Boston Village Volvo has a web site and you can get a price quote by e-mail. They require a phone call to order since they must verify that you are not in another dealers territory.

The shipping of the parts is from Volvo warehouses, not the dealer. The parts will be shipped from the parts warehouse closest to you that has the part. I get parts from a variety of locations even though I only order from Boston Volvo. Now that I am on their customer list the ordering is quicker.

Re: Volvo parts - dealer territory 200 1980

Larry,

There are some parts I'm inclined to buy only from Volvo, e.g. exhaust kit, coolant pump, strut bearings...

They require a phone call to order since they must verify that you are not in another dealers territory.

What is the rule or distance? Do you happen to know off hand?

TIA

Re: Volvo parts - dealer territory 200 1980

/// I don't know. I'm about 75 miles from Crown in Birmingham, Al. They use the phone exchange prefix, I think. There is an ad in Hemmings Motor News for discounts on foreign car parts that fishes for new customers. It may be Euro Parts or something like that. Be sure you ask for the nation wide desk when you return the call.

A reverse ping can locate you from your internet connection. At least that is what I have ben told. I had a program that revealed your routing, to check for trouble from your own computer, and it did give latitude and longitude of my home site.

Re: Volvo parts 200 1980

Brian,

There are dealers who offer substantial discounts on Volvo parts.

Tony Verrigni at Verrigni Marine Inc in Boca Raton: verrigni@hotmail.com is one. No website though.
