Strip speedo in kilometers. 140-160 1972

I'm in need of a 'strip speedo' in kilometres for my 1972 142S as here in Tasmania, Australia the were all in miles until 1974. This is my 17 year old son's first car he can't think in 'miles'. Freight cost is no broblem. Thanks, Matt.

    Hi Matt,

I had the same problem with miles.........for about a week. My folks still can't convert and neither can any of my mates.

I don't think there was a Km version, but I have seen many of the "strip" speedos with what appears to be a "factory" sticker. These speedos have both Kms and Mi. It doesn't look dodgy either, I had to look closely to realise it's a sticker. Next time I'm at the wreakers I'll have a look for you, as long as you pay the shipping (I'm in Sydney) and the $5-10 they'll probably charge me I'll send you one.

Actually, they did have it in only KM, I have a 72' here and the speedo is in KM and so is the trip meter thing... and I know another guy here with a 69' he also has his in KM... pretty strange, I actually think it looks cooler in miles because no one has it here in Thailand...hehe.

I think having a speedo in miles in car this old is better then Km. It's great when you "forget" that the speed limits are in Km
